Alan Norwood founded the firm in 1999 with a small book of clients. Throughout the years he grew the business, garnering trust and integrity in the local community. Sarah Kitchen joined the firm in 2016 and took over a few months later. The two share a passion for caring for their clients and doing accurate work. Alan retired in October 2019.

Owner & President
Sarah is a native of the Pacific Northwest. She has been using Quickbooks since 1995 and has been preparing income tax returns since 2000. Sarah has experience in IRS and state audit representation, Quickbooks business coaching and has spent 15 years in public accounting. Sarah has served her community as a past President and Treasurer for the Puyallup Main Street Association.
ALAN NORWOOD
Certified Public Accountant
Alan Norwood graduated from Northwest College in 1977 and was an Ordained Minister. He later went back to the University of Washington and received his Master’s of Professional Accountancy in 1991. Immediately he sat for and passed the CPA Exam upon graduation. Prior to opening his practice in Puyallup in 1987, Alan worked as a Revenue Agent for the Internal Revenue Service. Alan is enjoying retirement and spending time golfing and with his family.
Margaret grew up in Seattle and married into the USAF where she was able to travel around the world with her husband and three sons. She started preparing tax returns in 1982 and sat for and passed the Enrolled Agent exam in 1986. She had her own tax business on South Hill for 26 years. She served on the boards of WA State Society of Enrolled Agents, WA State Tax Consultants, and the Puyallup Chamber of Commerce. She is excited to work with the clients of Sarah M Kitchen EA Inc.
